Adopt A Grandparent

We’ve all heard the story about the sweet little old lady whose family lives so far away, and she spends a lot of time on her own. Or the old man who is a dominos enthusiast, and would love to have a partner to play his favorite game with.

Hey, we live in an apartment community where maybe there are a few older folks who could use a little company. Maybe there are some younger people who would benefit greatly from the “adopt a grandparent” experience! Maybe you could post a notice in the common area or apartment newspaper, looking to match retirees with youngsters, so that everyone wins!

Imagine the sense of responsibility and kindness your teenager would feel after spending a couple hours playing checkers with the older gentleman with the poolside apartment. Or maybe your next door neighbor is an older woman who would love to get some exercise, and the wonderful experience she would have playing Wii exercise games with the kids in the clubhouse! Let’s take the time and adopt a grandparent!
