Registration
I can’t find my apartment during the registration process.
If you can’t locate your apartment in the list of apartments displayed for your city, then you can add your apartment. To add your apartment, click on the “Add it Now!” text found in the red border box located at the top of the apartment listings on the second page of the registration process. Follow the instructions to add your apartment.
I never received a confirmation email.
Check your spam or junk folder. If the verification email isn’t located there, then log into your account using the email address and password you used to register your account. You’ll be directed to a page that contains a link to re-send your verification email.
The link in the confirmation email doesn’t seem to work.
Check to see if your email program is preventing the link from working and retry. If it still doesn’t work then copy the full verification URL and paste into the address line of your browser. The link will work from there.
Profile
How do I change my profile name?
Use the Contact Us form to send in a request to have your profile name changed. Please allow 48 hours for this change to take place.
How do I change my login password?
To change your login password, click on the “My Account” at the top of any page. The password change form is located under the link, “Change Password”.
How do I limit the amount of personal information displayed?
There are two places to limit the display of your profile information. The first place is located in the “My Account” area under the “Security” link. The second places are located under every link under the “Edit Profile” section. Choose a “Visibility” option.
How do I upload my profile picture?
Click “Edit Profile” underneath the profile picture on the profile page. Click the “Profile Picture” link and then the “Browse” button to locate your profile picture. Finally, click the “Upload” button to upload your profile picture.
Some sections of my profile aren’t showing.
Check your privacy settings. These settings are found in the “My Account” page and in the pages located under the “Edit Profile” section.
Photos
How do I upload photos?
Click the “Add Photos” link on the photos section on the Colony page. Follow the instructions to create a photo album. Once the album has been created follow the instructions on uploading photos into the album.
I can’t add photos to some of my albums.
Each photo album is limited to a maximum number of 50 photos. Check to see if you have reached the maximum limit.
How do I change the default display photo for my albums?
From the profile page, click the “View All” link in the Photos section. Choose the album you want to edit. From the photo list, choose the photo that you want to be the default picture for the album. Be sure to save your changes.
I don’t want my photos displayed on the Colony page.
You can manage which photos you would like to be displayed on the Colony page. From the profile page, click the “View All” link in the Photos section. Choose the album you want to edit. You can manage how you want each photo displayed through the visibility options.
Videos
Why can’t I upload Videos?
10ants does not allow users to upload encode video files. We do allow users to add and play videos which have been uploaded to YouTube.
How do I add a Video?
First, make sure that the video you want to display has been uploaded to YouTube. To add a video, click the “Add Video” link in the Video section found in the profile page. Follow the instructions to add a video.
Some videos I added won’t play.
First of all, make sure the video is currently working in YouTube. If not, then the video won’t work from the 10ants site. If it is working in YouTube then make sure the video URL from YouTube has been added correctly.
How do I show my videos on the Colony page.
From the profile page, click the “View All” link in the Video section. Click the “Edit” button of the Video that you want to edit. From the video edit page, choose from the Visibility options to display the video on the Colony page.
Groups
How do I create a Group?
From the profile page, click the “Create” link in the Groups section under the Profile picture. Follow the instructions for creating a Group.
How do I find a Group to join?
Click on the “Groups” link from the menu at the top of any page. A list of all the groups for your Colony will be displayed. Browse through the Groups and click the “Join” button for the open Groups that you want to join.
How do I edit my Group?
Click on the Groups link from the menu at the top of any page. A list of all the groups for your Colony will be displayed. Click the “My Groups” link. A list of your Groups will be display. Click the “Edit” button to edit any Group.
Friends
How many friends can I invite at a time?
You can invite up to 30 friends at a time.
Where is my friends list displayed?
You friends list is display on your Profile page under your profile picture.
How do I update an Event?
From the Colony page, click the “Events” click at the top of the page. Click the “My Events” link located in the menu bar under the” Browse Events” page title. Click the “Invite People” button to send event invites out.
Events
How do I create an Event?
From the Colony page, click the “Events” click at the top of the page. Click the “Create An Event” link located in the menu bar under the ”Browse Events” page title.

How do I update an Event?

Messages
How do I send a message?
Choose “Messages” from the top menu of any page. On the menu bar underneath “Compose a Message” choose “Compose Message”. First, click the “Choose / Find member names here.” to choose the Colony members you want to send a message to. Write the message and then send.
How many people can I message at a time?
You can message up to 30 Colony members at a time.
How do I know if I have received a message?
The number of unread messages that you have will be displayed next to “Messages” at the top of any page.
Classifieds
Can anyone list on the classifieds?
Only Colony members are able to list classifieds at this time.
How long will my classified by displayed?
Your classified will be displayed for 60 days and then it will be deactivated.
How do I upload a picture for my classified ad?
Choose “Classifieds” from the menu in the left hand column of the Colony Home page. Choose “Add Classifieds” from the menu bar. For Classifieds categories that allow pictures, the upload pictures option will be at the end of the form.
Ant Notes
What are Ant Notes?
Ant Notes a messages posted by friends on your profile page and also messages posted by members on the Events and Groups information pages.
How can I post Ant Notes?
You can post Ant Notes on your personal profile page or on the profile page of another Colony member who is a friend. From the Profile page, choose “Add A Note” from the Ant Notes section and follow the instructions.
How do I delete Ant Notes display on my profile page?
From your Profile page, choose “View All” from the Ant Notes section. Browse to the Ant Note you want deleted and click the “Delete” link.
News
Can anyone post News on the Colony page?
All Colony members can post News on the Colony page unless they have been banned from posting on the Colony page.
How long does the News stay active?
The News will stay active for a minimum of two weeks.
How can I edit the News that I post?
Choose “News” from the top menu of any page. Choose “My News” the view a list of the News articles you have posted. Click the “Edit” link to edit your News.

Change your contact email here.
Choose “My Account” at the very top of the page. Choose “Contact Email”. Change your email address and click the “Save Changes” button.
Change your password here.
Choose “My Account” at the very top of the page. Choose “Change Password”. Change your password and click the “Save Changes” button.
Cancel your account here.
Choose “My Account” at the very top of the page. Choose “Cancel Account”. Click the “Deactivate” button.
How do I re-activate my account?
Choose “My Account” at the very top of the page. Choose “Cancel Account”. Click the “Activate” button to activate your account.
Manage your privacy settings here.
Choose “My Account” at the very top of the page. Choose “Privacy”. Choose who you want to see your Profile.

How to Update your Settings
You must add your username and password prior to Uploading your first photo. Select the "info" button indicated by the red arrow below to edit your settings. You only need to do this once.


The Send Button never appears
If the Send Button never appears as seen in the following image then you are not connected to the server. The most likely issue is that you have not updated your Settings or your login username and password are not correct.


The Upload button never appears
